The event reaffirmed six key focus areas that will shape collaborative action in 2026 and highlighted emerging opportunities to strengthen impact across the province.

Eastern Cape Stakeholders Chart a Shared Path Forward for Education

What does it take to build an education ecosystem that is coordinated, responsive, and capable of meeting the needs of every learner?

This question sat at the heart of NASCEE's Eastern Cape Regional Networking Event, held on 29 May 2026 in partnership with Kagiso Trust, LEAP Institute, and Axium Education.

Bringing together over 60 representatives from civil society organisations, government, and education partners, the event created space for honest conversations about collaboration, trust, and collective impact. Discussions highlighted both the progress made since the 2024 Eastern Cape Collective Convening and the work still required to strengthen alignment across the sector.

Participants revisited six priority focus areas that continue to shape educational development in the province, while also exploring practical solutions to persistent challenges such as coordination, visibility, resource allocation, and partnership management.

A recurring message throughout the day was clear: meaningful change cannot be achieved through isolated projects. It requires intentional collaboration, stronger relationships, shared accountability, and data-informed decision-making.

The report captures the key insights, emerging priorities, and opportunities for collective action identified during the event, offering a valuable snapshot of where the sector is headed next.
