YeBo Academy & NASCEE Collaboration: Strengthening Facilitators to Build Stronger Communities
NASCEE is proud to collaborate with YeBo Academy and The Learning Trust in delivering high-quality Training and Facilitation programmes that build the capacity of community development practitioners across South Africa. Through this ongoing partnership, YeBo Academy leads the delivery of expert training, while NASCEE and The Learning Trust provide strategic support to ensure relevance, reach, and sustained impact within the sector. Together, we share a commitment to strengthening organisations by investing in the people who drive learning, engagement, and change.
As part of this collaboration, a recent Training and Facilitation Short Course was delivered in Johannesburg, bringing together community development practitioners from organisations across South Africa.
The three-day practical course was designed to strengthen participants’ ability to create engaging learning environments, facilitate experiential learning, manage group dynamics, and deliver impactful training programmes. The programme focused on equipping trainers and facilitators with practical tools and techniques that can be immediately applied within their organisations and communities.
The impact of the training was evident in the knowledge assessments completed before and after the course. Participants demonstrated substantial growth in their understanding of training and facilitation principles, with several achieving knowledge increases of between 30% and 50%.
Beyond the measurable knowledge gains, participants praised the course for its practical relevance, collaborative learning environment, and transformative approach. One participant shared that the training "couldn't have come at a better time" and highlighted the immediate application of the skills gained. Another described the experience as "safe and impactful training" and rated it 10 out of 10.
By investing in the development of trainers and facilitators, this partnership continues to strengthen the capacity of organisations to deliver meaningful learning experiences and create lasting impact within communities.
Opportunities such as these demonstrate the value of collaboration in strengthening South Africa's civil society sector. Through the NASCEE network, members gain access to initiatives that build skills, expand organisational capacity, and create opportunities for greater impact. By becoming part of the NASCEE community, organisations position themselves to benefit from partnerships and programmes designed to support learning, growth, and long-term sustainability.
NASCEE remains committed to supporting opportunities that build the skills, confidence, and effectiveness of civil society practitioners across South Africa.
